Undergraduate Programs

The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is one of the most comprehensive and diverse academic units in terms of its inventory of degree offerings at AUM. Students can graduate with a degree in Art, Communication, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Fine Arts, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Arts, Political Science, Sociology, Spanish, Teaching Writing, and World Languages and Cultures.

Graduate Programs

We offer graduate programs in Economics, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Liberal Arts, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Public Administration, and Teaching Writing. 

Doctoral Programs

The Joint Doctoral Program in Public Administration and Public Policy is a collaborative endeavor between the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Auburn University at Montgomery and the Department of Political Science at Auburn University. In times demanding change, this doctoral program prepares students to become a vital part of both academia and government. The faculty at both campuses share their knowledge and expertise transforming students into confident scholars, researchers, and policy leaders. 

Certificate Programs

The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers certificate programs in American Society and Culture, Museum Studies, and Teaching Writing. In the future, the college is looking forward to offering a variety of other certificate options that will also be available online.


Minors are a great way to add expertise in a particular area of interest that is outside of your undergraduate major. The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences has 28 minors currently being offered.
