The College of Arts and Sciences offers students a traditional liberal education to meet the needs of the 21st century, allowing them to compete for a variety of careers in an increasingly complex and evolving world.

Master of Liberal Arts

AUM’s Master of Liberal Arts program is the only interdisciplinary master’s degree program in the state of Alabama, offering specialized classes in the various liberal arts disciplines, including English. Students take core classes in the program and then focus on their chosen disciplines, and they complete the program by writing and defending a thesis in their discipline.

Master of Science in Cybersystems and Information Security

Our master degree will arm you with the skills to develop original, innovative technologies that improve cybersystems security.  You will be ready to troubleshoot large-scale information networks and distributed systems.  And you will know exactly how to mitigate system vulnerabilities and restore compromised services.

Master of Science in Psychology

Our graduate program utilizes the scientist/practitioner model, which is popular with our students because it allows the future Ph.D., the future researcher, and/or the future practitioner the opportunities to achieve their academic and career goals.

Master of Teaching Writing

Our Master of Teaching Writing degree emphasizes a deep knowledge of teaching in writing studies and a solid foundation in writing theory for a strong start to a professional life at the college level or in a corporate environment. Students are prepared for both teaching and professional writing careers through the capstone projects: a thesis and portfolio.
