Pre-Health Majors

Admission to most of the professional schools requires a Bachelor’s Degree and credit for certain required courses. The first step on your path to becoming a medical professional is to choose a major. You should choose a major that you would be happy working in should your career goals change, and which contains most of the courses you need for admission to professional school. If you are a beginning student, the majors which most choose are Biology and Chemistry. These majors have options designed for you which meet the requirements for the degree as well as those for admission to the professional school of your choice:

Can’t decide? You can also choose a Dual Degree in Biology/Chemistry Health Science. See your advisor for more information.

Other majors are possible, so if you would like to pursue one of those, you should contact the Pre-Health Advisor.

If you already have a Bachelor’s degree, and need extra required courses, you should contact the Pre-Health Advisor, who will help you to enroll in the courses that you need.
